About Us
Charleston Academy of Music prides itself in being one of the leading music schools in the Lowcountry. Founded in 2003, Academy has continued to grow, offering music lessons, as well as concerts for the Lowcountry.
Through music, students learn about discipline, teamwork, time management and other skills they can apply to their careers. Our students have gone on to reputable schools, such as Harvard, Curtis Institute of Music, the Peabody Institute, College of Charleston, and Yale, becoming artists, doctors and educators.
We are a 501(c) 3 non-profit organization. Our revenue is generated by tuition fees and contributions from our generous community partners (foundations, businesses and individuals).
PRIVATE LESSONS
Choose from numerous instruments and receive high quality instruction from our artist faculty, who are all current and active musicians in the Charleston area. Join one of our ensembles, attend our group classes, and watch our students and teachers perform in one of the many recitals throughout the year!
PERFORMANCE CLASSES AND RECITALS
Getting ready for the big stage is no easy task! We offer performance classes to build the confidence and skills of any musician. Your student will get valuable feedback from peers and instructors to improve their abilities, and maximize the impact of their next performance.
EARLY CHILDHOOD MUSIC CLASSES
The development of the young mind is crucial. Early childhood music programs have many benefits, including improved cognitive, motor, and social skills. It's even been proven to increase school-readiness. We offer Music Together classes for children 0-5 years of age, as well as Eurhythmics classes for children 3 years and older.
